Twilight T-shirt Quilt

Do you have a lot of Twilight T-shirts?  Do you have a few favorites you still wear but have more than you know what to do with? If you're like me then you answered YES to both of those questions.

Over the years, I have collected just about every Twilight Saga shirt I saw.  I also bought shirts as souvenirs on every Forks Trip I went on to the Pacific Northwest. I can't even begin to tell you how many shirts I have but it's more than I could ever wear. I still love them and wear my favorites but I wanted to do something special with those that I don't wear. Just hanging in the closet or folded in the drawer just wouldn't do.

My Twi-BFF Oregon Lynn of Our Twilight Corner found a website called Project Repat that turns your t-shirts into a quilt! HOW AWESOME IS THAT! I was super excited about this because what a great twi-treasure to have. I could have my very own trip t-shirt quilt just like Bella's mom gave her!

Once I decided to do this I started to gather, wash and prep my shirts. Since I have an little OCD (Obsessive Cullen Disorder), I contacted Project Repat to see if I could design my own quilt. They said you can! How cool! All I needed to do was to send a color picture showing the shirts laid out in the order I wanted. So I took pictures of all the shirts, made a layout on my computer and organized them. This process took the longest because I did a double sided quilt and I wanted it to be perfect. The OCD was strong with the front side. I wanted to make sure that each book/movie was represented in order on both the top and bottom halves. The back side I made the trip shirt side so I was a tad less OCD with them.

After the design was done, I organized, cut, and mailed them the 60 shirts. Gasp! I KNOW! And that's not all of them. They cut panels, assembled, and sewed the shirts together. Once they were done they sent me back a Full Size Double Sided (30 panel) very meaningful quilt filled will all kinds of memories and adventures!

Our Twilight Corner visits the View Point Inn 2010

The Viewpoint Inn is the home of the Twilight Prom that was tragically destroyed in a fire in July 2011.

Window where Victoria watched Edward and Bella

In the last five years since the fire occurred the Inn has sat emptyThere have been several failed attempts to save it.  We've witnessed some roof reconstruction started but it was never finished.  Sadly the state of the Inn has declined and it has been the victim of vandalism.  I still continued to visit the Inn on my trips to the Pacific Northwest.  However with each passing year it's gotten sadder to see.

A Beautiful Funeral by Jamie McGuire

It's no surprise that I love books by Author Jamie McGuire. It's also no surprise that I have been counting down to the release of her next book, A Beautiful Funeral, since the cover and title were revealed. What is a surprise (and a wonderful one at that) is that I received an advanced copy this past weekend in Las Vegas.

What makes this post DIFFERENT from all the others is that I have now read the book and can say, THIS IS THE BEST MADDOX BOOK YET! Seriously! Don't be afraid or nervous to read it just because of the title.

Yes, it will give you ALL the feels.

Yes, you'll be on the edge of your seat. My heart was pounding and there were times when I had to put my hand over the page so I wouldn't skip ahead to the bottom and spoil what was coming.

Yes, I cried, multiple times. Some were tears of sadness and others tears of JOY but it is wonderful.

I had goosebumps on my scalp from the very first chapter. And I read the entire last chapter with my hand on my chest.

If you're a fan of the Maddox Family you will absolutely LOVE IT! Jamie truly puts her heart and soul into this story. It's amazing. It's beautiful. It is everything, and MORE. It took my breath away.

If you haven't already pre-ordered this book you need to now! It releases this coming Monday, August 15th.

*Official Synopsis*

Losing has never been easy for a Maddox, but death always wins.

Eleven years to the day after eloping with Abby in Vegas, Special Agent Travis Maddox delivers his own brand of vigilante justice to mob boss Benny Carlisi. Vegas's oldest crime family is now preparing for vengeance, and the entire Maddox family is in danger.

The secret Thomas and Travis have kept for a decade will be revealed to the rest of the family, and for the first time the Maddoxes will be at odds. While none of them are strangers to loss, the family has grown and the risk is higher than ever. With brothers against brothers and wives taking sides, each member will make a choice—let the fear tear them apart, or make them stronger.
